Streaming Solution on Music Portal for Media Company

The main idea of this project was in developing stable and fast streaming solution which permits for media content vendors to present their products on the platform, for end-users to have web and mobile access to media content, and for both to share high quality audio formats and to use a real-time streaming/download.

One of the key technological features of the web portal was in multi audio formats support (FLAC, MP3, OGG) and a sound converter engine providing music files conversions between these formats; as well as three most popular media players support to reproduce audio streaming. For easier work with portal several additional elements were developed. Java mobile application client API allows browsing their music profile and downloading music directly from the web portal not only to the mobile phones but also to any remote device. Due to the included content provider API implementation the integration with external tools of media content providers is possible.

The system also has a very useful feature of tracking consumer activities and archiving the data into a download journal for further statistics to be provided. Also web portal visitors have ability to manage ordered or uploaded songs organizing their own private catalogue which could be, furthermore, browsed from his mobile device. All functions that were mentioned above are easily operated thanks to the convenient user interfaces.
